How we work
Every technical translation project goes through seven stages, from intake of the set to the final layout check. You know the cost before work starts, and the editor is responsible for the result.

Intake and analysis
We establish what the set contains, the sheet formats, the word count and the share of repetitions.

Quote
The quote shows the word-based calculation and the repetition discount. The price is fixed before work starts.

Glossary
Before translation, we collect the project terminology and agree open points with your specialist.

Translation
We prepare a machine draft in our translation environment, using the project translation memory and glossary. Our own automation tools handle some of the operations, which shortens the schedule without reducing the checks that follow.

Editing
An in-house editor who specialises in engineering reviews the full text. Editors and translators must pass a three-stage test before they work on projects.

Quality assurance
After editing, every file goes through automated checks of numbers and terminology, and a sample goes through linguistic quality assessment (LQA) on a formal scale: terminology, accuracy, fidelity to the source, formatting.

DTP and final check
We return the set in the source formats or as editable files, with the layout, frames and title blocks matching the source. Before delivery, we check completeness, text overflow, tables, callouts and sheet numbers.
Our environment and tools
Projects run in our translation environment, which keeps the project translation memory and glossaries in one place.
The machine draft is prepared in the same environment. HardTrans, the automation platform we developed, and language models speed up individual operations. The editor makes the decisions on the text and is responsible for the result. We do not deliver raw machine output.
The tools affect turnaround. The price is still calculated per source word, with the repetition discount.
Your terminology stays with you
We build up a translation memory and glossary for your company as we work. On request, we hand them over: the memory in TMX, the standard format supported by the major CAT tools, and the glossary as a CSV or XLSX table. The memory we hand over contains only your projects.
With them, future projects cost less and terminology stays consistent, whoever does the translation.
Quality control
- Full editing. An in-house editor who specialises in engineering reviews the whole text.
- Automated checks. Numbers and terms are checked across the entire document set. The glossary is approved before work starts, automated term checks flag deviations from it, and disputed decisions go into the project log.
- Sample LQA. We assess a sample from the set on the formal MQM scale.
- Final layout check. We check completeness, text overflow, tables, callouts and sheet numbers.
Data handling
The data handling mode is chosen before we send a quote.
Standard mode (with corporate APIs)
The project runs in the agency's translation environment with translation memory and a glossary. Language models may be used for individual operations through paid APIs; the terms of the selected providers do not allow project materials to be used for model training. Within the agency, access to materials is limited to the project team. Team members are not allowed to upload materials to personal accounts or public web interfaces, and all of them are bound by confidentiality obligations.
Closed mode (no external APIs)
Project materials are processed on the agency's infrastructure without calls to external APIs and are not transferred to language model providers. Where needed, we set up a separate environment for the project. Transfer channels, access, backup and delivery format are agreed before the quote; schedule and price are calculated separately.
